Sri. S. Ramabhadran, hailing from Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu,moved to Ootacamund, the Nilgiris, in pursuit of a career in the early 1930s. He was a respected government official known for his honesty and integrity. After his retirement, he preferred to stay back in the hills and enjoy the nature, which he loved so dearly. His kindness, compassion and commitment to social justice endeared him to the local population. A devote Vaishnavite, who believed in the adage of "simple living and high thinking" he lived up to a ripe age of 91 and passed away in 2001.
Mr. R. Madhavan and Mr.R.Parthasarathy initiated plans to start a senior citizen foundation to honour the memory of their father in this noble cause.
Madhavan (70) and Parthasarathy (72) were earlier associated with leading Indian and multinational companies and have rich administrative experience. The brothers have taken on this assignment with total dedication.
